DuitNow QR loyalty
Written by PEKO Team.Last updated: 05/23/2026.
DuitNow QR loyalty is retention software that attaches to transactions routed through Malaysia's national QR standard — accepting Touch ’n Go, GrabPay, Boost, MAE, and bank apps — using the routed payer reference to recognise returning customers.

DuitNow QR is operated by PayNet under Bank Negara Malaysia, and it consolidates payment QR acceptance across virtually every major Malaysian wallet and bank. For loyalty, this means one sticker on the counter captures the full payer footprint — and the loyalty layer can build a unified customer record regardless of which app the customer used.
Mechanically, DuitNow QR loyalty works like SGQR loyalty in Singapore: the operator's QR is scanned, the wallet routes the payment, the retention system reads the payer reference, and rewards settle either back to the wallet of origin (TNG, MAE, Boost) or via WhatsApp Business as a credit code redeemable on the next visit.
The PDPA-compliance posture is the same as any other Malaysian retention software — consent capture, in-region data, opt-out per send.
FAQ
Is DuitNow QR the same as MyDebit or FPX?
No. DuitNow QR is the QR-based rail; MyDebit is the domestic debit scheme and FPX is the bank-transfer rail. All three sit under PayNet but serve different transaction types.
Do all wallets expose payer identifiers on DuitNow?
Most major wallets (TNG, MAE, Boost) expose stable payer references usable for loyalty matching. Some retail-only QR setups anonymise, in which case loyalty falls back to opt-in at the counter.
Is DuitNow QR loyalty better than a stamp card?
Operationally yes — DuitNow QR loyalty has no plastic, no app download, and works across every customer regardless of wallet. Stamp cards rely on the customer remembering to bring the card.
