How to switch loyalty provider in Singapore or Malaysia (step by step)
- Who it is for
- Venue owners in Singapore or Malaysia leaving Advocado, Eber, StoreHub Beep, Mulah or STAMPEDE who want to keep their members and points.
- Time needed
- About an hour of work, spread over a few days so the old and new programmes can overlap.
PEKO imports a member list from any loyalty platform as a CSV file: name, phone, email, points balance, tier, join date and last-visit date. This guide covers each step, platform by platform, and what to do if your old provider gives you no export.
Step 1: Check your current contract and notice period
What to do: Find your contract end date, notice period and any prepaid credits before you change anything. Plan to cancel at the end of the paid period.
Why: Leaving mid-term can cost more than the new tool saves, and some message credits are not refundable.
Time: About 10 minutes.
In PEKO: No PEKO screen needed: check your current provider's billing page or contract.
Common mistake: Cancelling the old provider before your members are imported.
Step 2: Export your members from the old platform
What to do: Ask for one CSV with phone, name, email, points balance, tier, join date and last-visit date. Eber: Members → Export CSV in the web admin. StoreHub: Reports → Customers → Export. Advocado: ask your account manager for the member export. Mulah: request the member list from Mulah support. STAMPEDE: we know of no published export path, so ask STAMPEDE support for a CSV of your members.
Why: The phone number is the key that lets returning guests find their balance.
Time: About 10 minutes, or a few days if support has to send it.
In PEKO: Done in the old platform; no PEKO screen needed yet.
Common mistake: Accepting a PDF or a per-outlet split instead of one CSV.
Step 3: Create your PEKO account
What to do: Sign up on the free plan; it covers up to 300 members. If your list is larger, choose a paid plan in the market's own currency before importing.
Why: The member limit is set by the plan, so the plan must fit your list.
Time: About 15 minutes.
In PEKO: heypeko.com → Start free → sign-up form → dashboard.
Common mistake: Importing more members than the plan allows.
Step 4: Import the CSV and check the preview
What to do: Upload the CSV, map each column to the PEKO field and read the preview. PEKO shows the preview before anything is written.
Why: Mapping errors are easy to fix before import and hard to fix after.
Time: About 20 minutes.
In PEKO: Dashboard → Members → Import → map columns → check the preview.
Common mistake: Mapping the old provider's member ID as the key instead of the phone number.
Step 5: Keep the same balances and reward
What to do: Import points balances as they are and set a reward close to the old one, so a guest's points are worth the same the day after the switch. If your export has no points, PEKO can give everyone a flat welcome balance instead.
Why: A balance that shrinks during a switch is the fastest way to lose a regular.
Time: About 10 minutes.
In PEKO: AI Agent → describe the reward you had → review → Approve.
Common mistake: Quietly changing what a point is worth during the move.
Step 6: Put the PEKO QR where the old sign-up used to be
What to do: Replace the old counter tablet, sign-up card or receipt line with the PEKO QR on tables, counter and receipt footer. Guests scan and join on the web with no app.
Why: Imported members are recognised by phone the next time they scan; new guests join the same way.
Time: About 15 minutes, plus printing.
In PEKO: dashboard → print the venue QR.
Common mistake: Leaving old sign-up material in place, so guests join the wrong programme.
Step 7: If there is no export: ask members to re-join
What to do: If the old provider will not give you a member list, start fresh: put the PEKO QR up and tell regulars in person, on the receipt and in your last message from the old platform that the programme has moved and they can re-join by scanning.
Why: Without a file there is nothing to import, so the members have to come across themselves.
Time: Spread over the last weeks of the old contract.
In PEKO: dashboard → print the venue QR; no import step.
Common mistake: Messaging guests from a list you are no longer allowed to use; only contact people who agreed to hear from you.
Step 8: Tell members, then cancel the old platform
What to do: Send one short message that their points moved and how to see them. Run both programmes for a few weeks if you like, then cancel the old one at the end of its billing period.
Why: A plain notice keeps trust; an overlap avoids "my points disappeared" at the counter.
Time: About 10 minutes.
In PEKO: AI Agent → "tell imported members their points moved" → review → Approve.
Common mistake: Turning the notice into a sales message.
Switch-day checklist
- Old contract end date and notice period noted.
- One CSV exported, with phone numbers in every row.
- Plan chosen that fits the number of members.
- Import preview checked and balances match the old system.
- PEKO QR in place of the old sign-up material.
- One notice ready for members, sent only to people who agreed to messages.
Your first 30 days after the switch
- Day 1
- Import, check the preview and put the QR up. Scan a test receipt.
- Week 1
- Send the one notice. Keep the old programme running for redemptions if you overlap.
- Week 2
- With about 14 days of new visit data, PEKO starts flagging regulars who are drifting.
- Weeks 3 to 4
- Cancel the old platform at the end of its paid period and approve your first win-back.
Questions
Will my members have to sign up again?
Not if you import them. The phone number is the key, so an imported member's balance is there the first time they scan.
Can PEKO import points balances and tiers?
Yes. The CSV import takes name, phone, email, points balance, tier, join date and last-visit date.
What if my export has no points?
Import names and phones first; PEKO can give everyone a flat welcome balance.
What if my old provider gives me no export at all?
Start fresh: put up the PEKO QR and tell regulars the programme has moved, so they re-join by scanning.
Can I run both programmes for a while?
Yes. Many venues overlap for a few weeks, then cancel the old one at the end of its billing period.
Is there a migration fee?
No. Guided setup is optional, at S$180 in Singapore or RM299 in Malaysia, one-off.
Do I need to change my POS to switch?
No. PEKO runs alongside any POS through the venue QR and Receipt Scan.
