Checked Oct 2026. Every figure below is tied to a source and date. Where Grab or foodpanda does not publish a rate, this page says so instead of estimating one.
GrabFood merchant commission by plan
Delivery (Grab rider delivers): Grab does not publish this rate on its Malaysia merchant page, which covers sign-up and documents only (grab.com/my/merchant/food, checked Oct 2026). About 30% of the order is the rate reported in Malaysian coverage (Leh Leo Radio News, 28 Dec 2023). Treat it as reported, not official, and check the service fee in your own agreement.
Self Pick-Up (customer collects): Grab announced a Self Pick-Up service fee capped at 15%, applied automatically from 18 May 2021 (Grab MY merchant blog, 17 May 2021). Grab has not published a newer figure on that page.
Grab Online Shop (your own branded ordering page, delivered by Grab riders): Grab lists a service fee of 10% (GrabMerchant MY guide, checked Oct 2026).
How much does foodpanda charge restaurants in Malaysia
foodpanda does not publish a commission rate for Malaysia. Its partner FAQ says pricing is a commission on each order and that the exact commission varies by factors such as location and cuisine type (foodpanda Malaysia partner FAQ, 19 Jun 2025). The partner sign-up page lists no rate either (partner.foodpanda.my, checked Oct 2026). The only reliable figure is the one in the agreement foodpanda sends you.
Worked example: RM20,000/month in delivery sales
Illustration only, using the rates above. A venue with RM20,000 a month of GrabFood delivery sales at the reported 30% would pay RM6,000 a month in commission. The same RM20,000 at the published 15% Self Pick-Up cap would be at most RM3,000, and through Grab Online Shop at 10% it would be RM2,000. These are channel comparisons, not a prediction of your bill: promotions and in-app advertising are charged on top and are not published as fixed rates. Put your own numbers into the Malaysia fee calculator below.
How to reduce GrabFood commission
Use the channel with the lower published rate where it fits: Self Pick-Up orders are capped at 15% and Grab Online Shop is 10%, against the reported 30% for delivery. Read the service fee and any promotion co-funding terms in your agreement before joining a campaign. Then work on the mix: every regular who orders from you directly instead of through the app is an order with no marketplace commission at all.
Direct ordering as an alternative
Direct ordering means the customer orders through your own channel, such as a WhatsApp number, a QR code at the table or on the delivery bag, or your own ordering page. Keep GrabFood for customers who discover you there, and give regulars a reason to come back direct. PEKO is the AI customer-retention layer that runs on your existing POS: it recognises returning guests from a receipt or QR scan and sends win-back offers on WhatsApp, so you can see how many delivery regulars you have moved to direct orders. LOOP (loopin.one) is PEKO's sibling AI POS from the same company, and the two together are LOOP + PEKO.

How do I get salon clients to rebook in Malaysia?
Remind each client just before their service's usual rebooking window, on WhatsApp, with a reason to book that week; PEKO does this from one place, combining appointment booking, Receipt Scan loyalty, Group Check-In for groups and friends, and an AI Agent that sets up rebooking and win-back campaigns from one message, free up to 300 members, then RM99. Pick TunaiPro instead if you want a salon POS with packages, or LABÉAU for a full clinic or spa POS.
